The BOMBERS say the Gaerne GX-1 boot is the best motocross boot available at the $200 price point. Made in Italy, the GX-1 is better than MX boots costing up to $300. It is protective enough for serious motocross, but comfortable enough for enduro and even dual sport use.

Gaerne is different than most boot companies. They focus on making the best boots while other product managers spend time shaving costs on their Excel spreadsheets. Gaerne's commitment has been paying off, they are steadily growing and frankly eating everyone else's lunch.

These GX-1 boots are near-perfect for off road, dual sport, and ADV riding. Light, sturdy, not too stiff, and comfortable for long rides. Easy to walk in, shift, yet great support. There are many boots at the $200 price point. However, NONE OF THEM HAVE THE QUALITY AND FIT OF THESE GX-1s. They are our BOMBER RECOMMENDED choice for this price point. Basta.

starrating Best boot for your buck

After having these boots for 2 months all I can say is WOW! Brian helped steer me in the right direction of which boot would serve me best. I ride a 300 exc on and off road, so a protective dual sport capable boot was needed. These boots fit like a glove and are comfy and easy to walk in right out of the box. It's spring right now so they've been through 2 months of muck and water and I haven't had wet feet yet. You don't get any of that painful plastic digging into your ankles like some of the cheaper boots give you when being worn the first few times. These things are awesome. Much better than some $300 boots I've owned previously. I've even started wearing them at the track while riding my kx250. My alpinestars have been lonely since these arrived. Best boots for the money spent. Hands down. I recommend these to anyone who rides. They make a great dual sport, adventure and even track boot.

starrating Great Dual Sport Boot

I ordered these a few months ago after getting outstanding customer support from the Atomic Moto team. I can honestly say I have never worked with a company so interested in making sure you get what you want and need, and not just what they are trying to sell. After asking a lot of questions, and corresponding with Brian through a few emails, he recommended the GX-1 for my riding style. I ride a KLR650 and ride 70/30 or so on the street. I was looking for more protective than comfortable boot, but this fills both requirements. The construction and finish are top notch. They seem to offer a lot of protection for a "entry level" offering. When you are on the bike they are comfortable enough to not even notice you're wearing them. I wear Olympia AST pants and the boots can either fit under or over the pants. They are definitely warm, but with some good socks, they should be cool enough for summer. When walking around, they are a bit awkward and stiff, but not like a pair of ski boots. They are definitely easy for walking, as long as it isn't for hours. The soles are rather smooth, but they are still very grippy, even on the crappy stock KLR pegs. Overall, these are great boot. I wear between 12.5-13 in shoes and boots, normal width. The 47s fit me great, and the toe box is generous enough to fit thicker socks without any issues. The only problem I have had with these boots is the need to change my shift lever for an IMS extended shifter on my KLR. As soon as I swapped that out, everything worked great.

starrating Great so far!

These are my first boots, and I've only rode in these boots about 3 times. But, so far they seem to be great! Pretty easy shifting and flexibility right out of the box. Fitment is pretty good, and the buckles are great. Makes them very easy to get on and off. I have walked a good bit in these boots and don't have much to complain about on that part. Nice and comfy for a riding boot. I will update the review after I get some more experience with these. So far so good!

starrating Awesome

All I have to say is that these boots are awesome, simply awesome. I've taken them on a couple light rides as of yet, but am already pleased with their performance. Beyond that the service from atomic was absolutely amazing. They helped me with sizing and the boots arrived within two days. So overall I am very happy with the purchase.
