The Gaerne SG-10 motocross boot is outstanding for many reasons, here are two: first, Gaerne is the best fitting MX boot on the planet, period. Wide toebox, plenty of padding, easy to get under the shift lever, and comfortable. They achieve this without using an inner removable bootie, a more simple and also more effective design. The second reason is the mechanical hinge design, it allows the boots to be easily flexed to a point, but then to limit movement. The feel of this mechanical system is superb. You get outstanding flex, to a specific mechanical point, without the pinch points that non-hinge boots can have. Gaerne refines and massages and tweaks every last bit of quality and performance out of their designs. The mold finishing is beautiful, plastic compounds are perfect, buckles work flawlessly, and sewing is unbelievably consistent. The SG-10 is perhaps their best accomplishment.
