A local BOMBER and friend of ours, Airman Hopper, recently took delivery of a Klim Latitude Jacket and Klim Latitude Pant. We actually got to review a pre-production sample Latitude suit last March, and Hopper was our fit model. We were both impressed by the Latitude, particularly by how well it fit. The BOMBERS feel it is the best fitting ADV Suit in the entire Klim line.
We thought it would be interesting to compare both the pre-production version and the final for you to look at. Normally, product managers are scrambling right up to the minute the factory starts cutting (I like to call offshore apparel development "managed failure". Ha ha.). But in this case, the sample was highly refined; we saw almost no changes between the two. This indicates the Klim development team was on their game.
Black version is the sample, gray is the production.

Collar was perfect on both:

Airman Hopper is a fairly standard build. He is 5' 9" tall, 185 pounds, measures 44" at the chest, and 37" at the waist. We fitted him with a size Large Jacket and 34 pant, and both were correct for him. There was plenty of room in the jacket for layers, and the Latitude does not have the tightness in the arms that the Badlands has. Note also that KH's waist measures 3" larger than his actual pant size. This is NORMAL for most North American garments (and clear evidence that the words true to size are BS...).
The Klim Latitude Adventure Touring suit really impressed us. Its fit and finish are excellent, and we almost like the feel of the 2-layer Gore-Tex fabric construction better than the 3L of its brothers. It may not have the features of the Klim Badlands or Klim Adventure Rally Suits, and you would be stoked with any of them. But in some ways, the Klim Latitude Suit is more impressive, particularly since it is the best value in the Klim ADV line.
Finally, back in March 2011 when we first posted PDFs of the Klim Badlands and Latitude Suits on ADVRider - at Klims request - a competitor of ours with a massive ego had a rather large tantrum (t-shirt too tight? too much time in the tanning booth?), causing a few people to zealously overreact. Thankfully, cooler heads at Klim stepped in, apologies were issued, and we resolved to focus on serving our customers, not becoming a whiner. But it did piss us off, and Airman Hopper succinctly sums up our message to several involved:
