The Klim Tactical Short is BOMBER used and BOMBER recommended as the best padded short sold for four reasons:
Fabric: The Tactical short uses a much higher quality spandex fabric that any other short we have seen. Most moto companies use really cheap fabric on their models, because moto guys don't pay attention to that stuff. Conversely, the body fabric that Klim uses is similar to high-end bicycle shorts.
Fit: the pattern used on these has enough panels to make you lose count. The reason for this is to have a more ergonomic shape. They do.
Chamois: they have a real chamois. A super high quality one. A COMFORTABLE one, that does not make you take key names in vain after a long ride.
Padding: They use a super-high quality padding, in a good thickness. The pads do real work to absorb impacts, and several of our squadron (including our Lead BOMBER have found this out the hard way).
FWIW we are not stoked about the gaps in between the pads, but overall this is an excellent and much needed piece of equipment.
