The MSR Attack pants are well built, with heavy fabric on knees and seat, good size leather panel on inside right leg, large waterproof thigh vent zippers, good adjustable front buckle, adjustable Velcro sidebelt straps, quality thigh pockets which appear to have good waterproofness for phone, etc., and Velcro cuff straps.
Fit is good with waist size only slightly tighter than equivalent sized jeans. I wear 34 jeans, and got 34 MSRs, and am happy with the fit with side straps out all the way. I don't wear padded riding shorts, but I think there is enough room to fit over them. I suspect that if I would have gotten the next size up, there would be plenty of adjustment to fit OK too.
For the price at $143, these are the perfect winter weather riding pants. They keep out the wind and rain, but have just OK ventilation. Thigh vents are quite large, but with no other vents, air circulation is minimal. They do let out some heat, but I think they would be pretty hot to wear in summer. |
