Many of us who do not live in Flatbillerville, CA ride in REAL WEATHER. For those that want to extend their riding season, we suggest these Moose Foam Handguards.
Why are we waxing on about these? Because they are a simple, elegant solution to a real problem: COLD HANDS. Riding in cold temps is always a conflict between using gloves heavy enough to keep warm, and light enough to grip the bars and hang on. Often, glove designs fail at both.
The Moose Handguards block most of the wind, allowing you to use a much lighter glove and still be warm. We used to recommend an MSR version of this, but the Moose units are molded, fit better, look better, AND cost less. They attach simply and quickly, using a sewn-on velcro strap:
...and a zip tie:
You do have to fire a few synapses on getting them around the cables and such, but they take all of three minutes to put on. And they look kinda cool, in a functional I-am-a-serious-rider kind of way. Moose Foam Handguards $24.77 BOMBER Recommended.
