MSR Basic SOCKS (not soxx...SOCKS your grammatical terrorist...) Anyone with a vintage Jones or an old Motocross Action collection remembers Malcolm Smith Gold Medal Products.
30 years ago, the owner of JT was a marketing guy, the owner of Fox was a mail order guy, and Thor was a comic book. Malcolm was the real deal, and Malcolm Smith Products was a hallowed brand. They had a huge catalog of gear that was functional and hugely innovative. You just knew that if Malcolm sold it, it was good, and you bought it. Case in point: Malcolm offered a water bottle that attached to the handlebars, and which sold in the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS.
Unfortunately, a group of Corona flatbillers are killing the Malcolm Smith brand. Over the years MSR has been turned into some Supercross brand, unrecognizable from the half dozen other SX wannabe brands. This was likely all perfectly correct and justified by spread sheets and forecasts and power points, but we are left with purple throwback gear. Dude.
The BOMBERS are drawing a line in the sand, right here, right now. These socks are the last vestige of Malcolm Smith Gold Medal Products. If they go, the Soul fire that burns brightly in the heart of every dirt biker will be extinguished, and flatbill zombies will rule the earth. Here is what we want you to do: 1. Buy these socks. 2. Call Dave Casella, the brand manager for MSR at 951 340-3301 and tell him you are MAD AS HELL AND NOT GONNA TAKE THIS FLATBILL CRAP ANY MORE. AND ANOTHER THING.....GIVE US BACK THE DAMN DEERSKIN GLOVES IN NATURAL.
