The Chinook is the controlled ventilation in-the-boot pant from Klim, Like the Dakar, Chinooks feature two huge 18 inch zippers on the thigh that can be opened for airflow. The BOMBERS feel they have the best fabrics mix in the Klim line, using ballistic nylon in wear areas along with large 1.5mm leather heatguards on the inner knees. For fit, they have an X-shaped crotch stretch panel and the ubiquitous but outstanding side waist adjusters. A slew of details include large zippered cargo pockets, knee brace reinforcements, YKK zips, and lots more stuff.
The larger context of the Chinooks is that they may change your mind about in-the-boot pants. Many have grown tired of in-the-boot pants from gear companies.tired of cheap 600 D polyester that fails, tired of bad fit, tired of clown graphics, tired of heavy rubber logos, tired of a lack of function.
