The BOMBERS
The BOMBERS are a squadron of riders in Bend, Oregon, dedicated to targeting the best moto gear available. It's a loose-knit, covert network with a tight-knit bond, and it works.
Our Mission
Our mission is to earn lifelong customers, NOT to sell gear. We do this by choosing products that do not disappoint, offering the best customer service (no, really), and helping you find the right gear for your mission. Unlike some internet retailers, we like communicating with our customers. We are clear with them about what works, and candid with them about what doesn’t work. If you don’t believe us, ask around or do some searching.
Our Training
The BOMBERS have worked with design, development, and manufacturing of motorcycle gear for nearly 20 years, including some high-ranking time with two of the largest, most well-known brands in the world. These units were great training, and taught us all about how moto gear is made and sold. We have been to the factories, worked on the designs, and learned all the shortcuts that gear companies take. We can tell the difference between good stuff and junk from 70 yards, and can spot a deal from a mile away.
Our Targets
We don't just list products, we review them We study the materials, construction, and overall quality and have no patience with companies that take shortcuts and make bad products. We only choose gear that fits well, functions well, and lasts in the field. Our focus is dirt bike, dual sport, and adventure touring gear, because that is the type of riding we do. To sell gear we do not understand would be disingenuous.
Sometimes it is from the big brands, but we also love "under the radar" stuff (they are some of the best finds). Our product mix is a handpicked selection of the well-known, plus closeouts, off-brands, emerging companies, and stuff from other sports. As long as the fit, function, and durability are above average, and it makes your riding experience better, we like it.
A word from The Lead BOMBER.....
If you are still reading this, it means you really want to be sure we are worth your time, and I would like to pass along a few thoughts to help you choose us.
It has never been my goal to have the biggest online moto superstore with the most products. I am not knocking that – some of my competitors like MC Superstore, Anthony and co. at Revzilla, Rusty at MC Closeouts, etc. are very successful, do a great job and we respect them. We also are 110% committed to success, but our definition of that goal is different.
The thing is, we are product geeks through and through. We love messing around with gear: measuring it, turning it inside out, trying it on with other products, and of course, using it on the bike. This process helps us identify the best features, the best materials, and the best fit, and having 100,000 SKUs would make that impossible.
As a former product designer, I always tried to make and sell the best gear possible. Now, we do not design the products we sell, but we use them, and thus form strong opinions about them. The online business experts say we are not supposed to have these opinions, we are just supposed to present as many as we can, all equally. That does not reflect the reality that some products are better than others, either for function, durability, fit, style, or of course value.
Being choosy about what we sell is just one of the reasons you should consider joining The BOMBERS. Another is that we hold ourselves to the highest possible standards of customer service and integrity. Once again, our mission is to earn lifelong customers. If we can accomplish that, either through getting you the gear you want, or giving helpful advice, or offering great value, then we are already very, very successful.
