The Firstgear Kilimanjaro Hi Boots are our favorite boot in the FG line (yes, we prefer them to the Katmandhus....). They have decent ankle protection, are good for walking, and have reasonable width. For the money, they are great.
  • Fully waterproof
  • All leather upper with toe shifter patch
  • Hook-and-loop covered zipper access
  • Hard ankle and shin protection

Waterproof
Bought the boots about 2 years ago. Comfortable boot overall, value is good. They are anything but waterproof. Went through a slight rain for about 2 hours and socks were very damp. I ride a 2012 Triumph Explorer 1200 and was riding through Olympic National Park. Very disappointing. If you are looking for an all weather boot I would stay away from these.

Nice boot so far
I went looking for a reasonably priced boot for commuting and half-day/day rides. The Kilimanjaro seemed to be the perfect fit, so I bought them. After about a dozen wearings (not riding much due to injury) I can say the boots are very comfy on and off the bike. They seem to be fairly well made and offer a good level of protection for the money. I have two gripes with these boots, though. After the third wear, the stitching on the shift protection patch (on the toe) is coming apart--though in all fairness, I think this has to do with my Monster's gear selector at least a little bit. Second, these boots don't seem to breathe much and my feet get hot when I ride. I suspect this will make them ideal soon, though, as we only get a month or so of really warm weather here in Bend. Overall, I feel this is a good product and a great value. Thanks for the boots, Atomic Moto!
