After hurting my foot and ankle a couple times riding I got these, they are comfortable and seem to be good protection. They are also pretty easy to walk in
Everything is as expected, except for two things:
1 - My feet like the original Forma sizing, so had to step up a size ... no biggie.
2 - The color (brown) is a bit lighter than I wanted, so I gave them a false patina with some black leather polish ... now looks exactly like I wanted!
No gripes about the boots themselves.
Sizing can be a little tricky so I advise consulting with Bryan. I ordered the Forma Boulders in the biggest size available, but could tell right away they were a bit small. Bryan immediately sent me a return authorization and I re-ordered Adventures in the 49EU/14US......they fit perfectly. Very sturdy lower leg protection, quality materials throughout, and comfortable to walk in. But the real 5 Star Rating goes to Bryan for his helpful, no-hassle commitment to customer service, which can be hard to find these days!
The Forma Adventure boots (I've got brown which looks very good) are sturdy, protective and comfortable to stand on pegs with. They are also comfortable for walks / short hikes to see scenery and trails (not for miles & miles). The tall boots shaft protects from branches or trail crap flinging up to hit your legs. I was initially concerned about the plastic snap buckles, but they've been perfectly reliable for 100s and 100s of miles; easy adjustment, stays put once set. You'll need above-the-calf or knee-high socks. And be sure you know your European shoe size Oh, did I mention they look really good? Designed in Italy, manufactured in Romania (mine anyway); excellent build quality.
Just an add on to my review in August to give a shout out to Forma USA. I had and issue with a strap and they took care of quickly with no hassle. Great boot, great all around service! Been riding in them for 3 months with around 700 miles of both on and off road and they are comfortable. I also did some short hiking in the mountains, 1/4 mile at a time off bike and they felt almost like my regular hiking boots, just higher.
Picked this one up on the recommendation of Chris on staff. So far, it's help shield me from the worst of my highway riding and it's lasted me multiple hour rides without feeling uncomfortable. The modularity is great for scooting around the neighborhood and I like the interior sun visor so I can toggle depending on the weather.
Was struggling finding a boot that fits wide feet. I wear a 12 wide in hokas & euro size 47 in Forma boots for comparison. Brian had me measure my foot & insole length & I was skeptical that he was recommending a Sidi boot & also going down a size to a euro 46. He diagnosed my foot problem correctly, I had been sizing up on boots to gain width when I just needed a wider boot without extra length. The crossair x fits just right, very comfortable, ankle feels very supported, good peg feel, no problems with shifting or braking, feels light on the bike, fast break in time. Very impressed with the boot. The search is finally over.
Best boot I've ever worn. Love the ankle and overall support. I've owned most of the other brands and continue to come back to the SG12. I ride fast desert, and track so I prefer a stiffer more supportive boot. If I were riding slow trails all the time I might go with a less supportive/more flexible boot. I personally use this boot for everything and love it.
These feel like real protection. My Vendramini Lusakas fit like the proverbial glove, but can't hold a candle to these for sheer confidence. Very nice boots. Gaerne and Atomic for the win!
I originally ordered a different boot, when they went to pull the order they found they didn't have the boot I wanted. Im not sure of the gentleman who called me the next day to apologize, He talked me into the Gaerne Daker Aquatech's and im so glad he did, PERFECT !! This is exactly what I was looking for. so..THANK YOU !!!!! for going the extra mile for me.
