I bought a pair of these from Atomic Moto in 2017. I used them riding the streets of San Francisco as a cannabis courier/commuting, riding track, dual sporting and adventure riding all over the state of California and beyond. I've crashed in them at American Supercamp more than once. I've burned them on exhausts, taken them swimming through water crossings that I couldn't quite cross and hurt them every way I could think of.
They are dead now. My sole is flopping off like a classic hobo's shoe. I've cracked the outer shell.
They were worth every single penny I paid for them. I can confidently say they have at least 75,000 hard miles on them and zero love or care from me other than throwing them on the boot dryer periodically.
They are great for my big, wide duck feet and my wide, wide calves. They are comfortable and most importantly, they fit. Finding boots is a giant pain for me because of how I am built. These are the only thing I have found that offer good protection, good water resistance, don't cost a mint, and aren't a pain in the xxx to put on. So, I ordered another pair to get me through the next few years.
These boots are great so far. I haven’t been on any adventures with them yet bet walking and a short ride to the bike shop have been good. I normally wear 10.5 or 11 and Brian put me in a 10. They could have a little more length in my longer foot, but it is acceptable. I can tighten down the straps a little when they loosen up to prevent toe jamming. They fit nice and snug with lots of padding all around. They are quite warm so thinner socks are more comfortable, I usually wear thin compression socks and these work well. They offer a lot more support than my Daytona Road Stars. After breaking in they started squeaking and I fixed that with some dry lubricant spray. They are very comfortable while walking. 1-2 mile hikes are no problem.
I moved the gear leaver on my R1250GSA up a little. It may require a little more fine tuning, but upshifting was no problem on a short highway ride. Downshifting requires lifting the boot up and onto the shifter more than I’m used too because of the raised lever and thicker soles of the Toucans. Fine tuning and more practice should should sort this out.
Overall, great boot and great service from Atomic Moto!!!
Great fit for my wide feet & fat ankles!! Atomic-Moto is the GREATEST at offering expert advice for fit & always offering the best price!! GO Atomic Moto!!! My first call for ALL my M/C accessories!!
Picked these for all-weather paved and un-paved riding. I don't go seriously off-road with my 1190 but wanted good protection nonetheless. When I first put them on I was impressed with the cushioning feeling like my feet were wrapped in protection and comfort. The toe box is a little narrow and I ordered size 11 when I would normally wear a 10.5 The velcro closure at the top of the boot does not fit my (apparently) under size calves - when the velcro surfaces are mated The inside of the top edge of the boot has some rough stitching or something that was pretty uncomfortable - suggest tall socks. The two buckles are simply brilliant - would definitely consider getting new motocross boots just to have those buckles. The first two rides I took wearing these were 250 miles the first day and 350 the next in moderate temps with no moisture. My feet felt great at the end of the day and was happy to put them back on for the second day. Only sore spot was my calf - my socks dropped down and the boot rubbed on bare skin. Overall feel well-protected very comfortable and love the easy-on easy-off. Makes me much more inclined to put on on proper boots - if only I could get my street pants (Carhartt for example) over the shin protection. Regarding the Bombers - unbelievable service. I asked about them having a storefront to try on boots and got a phone call answering all my questions about boots helping me make this choice (no storefront so couldn't try them on but with such ample information I felt confident). I place my order and got another phone call letting me know there would be a delay (like two days). Who does this for their customers??? Whatever you're thinking about buying get it here!
Spent a lot of time reading reviews and researching different boots. I then called Brian and he spent a bunch of time on the phone with me talking about the options available and he recommended the Toucans. I was initially reluctant to spend that much coin but decided to pull the trigger. I've always had the issue of being right between sizes usually 11 1/2 -12 with one foot being 1/2 size off. I ended up getting the 12s. They felt great when I tried them on but with the one foot feeling just a tiny bit loose. I called Brian to discuss the fit and he again spent a bunch of time with me suggesting I try different insoles from my other shoes to see how it affected the fit. Why didn't I think of that?! I ended up putting Sole inserts in and these boots feel awesome. I've only put about 300 miles riding with them so far and they are great. Brian was right on with his recommendation and provided exceptional customer service along the way. Thanks!
I was having a hard time finding in between sizes in these Forma boots. Atomic Moto gets them directly from Forma so you can have it your way, to steal a phrase. The boots are plenty tough for street riding and occasional offroad. The toe box is roomy and are more walkable than MX boots.
I have over 6 months use in rocky, sandy, hardback West Texas terrain and they have served me very well. I would buy again. The fit was perfect- always a concern when purchasing online. I'm a wider size 11 and the 45 fits nicely. Quality is evident and boot is made in the EU. After ordering I received a call from Atomic just to let me know it would be shipped in a few days (not immediately), was that OK? Great job of customer service.
Boot is firm and will take time to break-in, not a great walker but a no joke foot protection beast. I've had a few dabs hitting an unseen rock or stump and the energy is absorbed by the boot and not your foot other than a sting.
Thanks, Atomic
Bought these to replace 6 inch Danner boots I wear during the summer. The Danners although good for walking leak while riding. I also have a pair of Dianese GT fulcrums which are great boots but are not great for camping. MY actual adventure riding is limited but wanted something with better traction than the Dianese and I do a good bit of moto camping but dont want to look like too much of a poser in full height boots. My Klim outrider jeans fit nicely over these. I wear a 11 1/2 to 12 shoe. 12 in hiking and running shoes and 11 1/2 in others. I went with a 46 knowing the majority of what I have is a 46 with the exception of my back packing boots which are 47s. Fit is very good and I think a 47 would have been a little too big. One pre requisite I have is I put green super feet in all my shoes except running and they feel great with them. Yes , at first they feel like ski boots
and are a little clompy but are already loosening. To sum it up I think the support they provide and the fit will be perfect for my gravel road, camping , road riding.
You can see and feel the quality in every part of this boot. Buckles are especially great. Surprising at this price point. I expect to be wearing these for a long time to come. Normally wear 10.5 shoe, but the 10 boots fit just right.
I recently purchased a BMW R1200 GSA. My past motorcycle was Victory Vision. Last year I underwent surgery for a broken 5th metatarsal on my right foot due to a freak drop of the Victory. Lost 3 months of work and riding. After purchasing the GSA, I decided to get proper foot protection right up front. After asking about my riding style and intentions, I ultimately ended up with this Forma model. I wore them for 8 hours last night and the fit is perfect at a 13. They protect all of the key areas I am concerned about and while not ballerina shoes, have been surprising comfortable to walk around the house with. Brian's recommendation is a home run and he really knows boots. I should be getting out for a days ride soon involving some rough roads and off pavement. I feel much safer knowing I have the right boot for the job. I will update later after I get some miles with these boots, but my gut tells me they will be great.
