1st time using knee braces, and I must say these POD K4 fit nicely. Soon into my ride (Enduro), my apprehension of awkwardness wearing braces while riding was gone and I was able to ride like normal. Brian was very mindful of the importance of sizing and was kind enough to call to double check that I have the right one ordered. Overall these feel comfortable to wear and are well made and affordable.
I tried a few braces between the $500-$700 price range, but these were the best fit for me (in terms of quality, comfort, functionality and value for price). Wore this for an all-day off-road training, 95F+ brain melting heat, no problem; I forgot that I had it on after a few minutes on the bike (and these were my first braces!). Walking is also fine, makes a bit of a noise. Did not have any issues holding onto the bike either while standing. I wore it under a Mosko Woodsman Enduro ITB pants (32), no issues, but a somewhat tight fit. I would strongly suggest wearing brace sleeves.
Lucky it has not been crash tested, I wish the patella was a bit more protected and if all the straps had 'memory' (top and bottom has).
I purchased these braces for some extra protection adventure and dualsport riding. I'm not a racer, but wanted the extra support and protection taking bigger bikes through questionable terrain. I've only got one day of riding on them so far, a 6 hours ride on dirt and two-track. These braces are very comfortable, and after a couple hours I didn't even notice I was wearing them. I was a bit worried that they wouldn't fit under my Klim Badlands pants, but they do. I wear a 36 tall in the 2017 vintage Badlands, and a XL/2XL POD K4 2.0. There is plenty of room and my pants didn't bind up at all. Great product and great customer service!
Great product and Great service.
The jacket fits perfectly with plenty of protection, but still easy to move around in. Hopefully I won’t have to actually use it, but better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it! Thanks for your help again Bryan!
I don't have a lot of experience with boots for off-road riding but I do have a lot of experience fighting to find ski boots and shoes in general that provide the width and volume I need in the mid foot. I tried the Sidi Xfire with the Goodyear welt hoping the width would work, but they just didn't have the volume.
More than anything thank you to Brian who spent 10 minutes on the phone with me just to figure out exactly what the issue might be and recommended the SG-22 specifically for the molded toe box.
The SG probably could have sized down as their EU to US conversion is larger than Sidi, but the volume definitely didn't come from the size alone.
Very sturdy. First pair of motorcycle boots I have ever worn.
After 50,000 miles (about 50% to 60% off pavement) I replaced my Gaerne Dakars with the Fastbacks as I wanted a higher level of protection. As the Fastbacks are a much stiffer boot, I was concerned about comfort...but not an issue! I am still adapting to them when it comes to braking and shifting, but im sure in a few weeks it will be fine. Fortunately I have not yet had a get off to test the level of protection, but it is clear they are way more so than the Dakars. All day comfort. I only wish they were waterproof. Brians sizing recommendation, as always, was spot on.
