- Klim F5 Koroyd Helmet ECE/DOT
The helmet works really well, super light and comfortable. Here are my thoughts on the first rides.
-Lets a little more noise in than the Arai VX-Pro3, I normally don't wear ear plugs but I think I might on longer rides with this helmet.
-Maybe a little more wind noise than the Arai, especially when you turn your head and at high speeds
-Fidlock is neat especially taking off the helmet, but it takes a little knack with gloves that I have not fully developed yet.
-Fit an finish are close to Aria level ( hopefully it hold up well)
-It vents really well, I put the windstopper liner in all weekend. I only got hot on slow rocky sections and some single track
-Did I mention it is light!
-It sits farther down on your head, I had to pull my horse collar off my Tekvest because of interference.
-Eye port is huge, does not push my goggles down on the bridge of my nose like the Aria does. Fits Scott Prospect goggles just fine (with the nose guard removed).
This is a limited review. I bought these boots online guided by other reviews. I wear a 42 in all TCX boots, but the chart put in a 43. I walked around the house for a couple of hours and they felt fine. I am hoping these boots will be my hot weather boots since the WP TCX boots can feel a bit stuffy in the hottest days. I love my TCX Drifter boots and these boots feel similar...maybe a little more roomy.
Great padding around the ankle. I have a wide foot and these fit great.
A benchmark boot lives up to the hype. OK, we know that Gaerne makes a premium motorcycle boot, and the Balance Oiled are, if not their apex offering, pretty darn close to it. It is genuinely hard to describe how beautiful these boots are until you hold them in your hand. Everything about them oozes quality and attention to detail. At the same time, these boots are clean and simple. Everything you need and nothing you don't. Instantly comfortable and the gum rubber sole is awesome on and off the bike. I didn't purchase these for off-road use because they don't offer the requisite level of protection for anything more than a fire road. For me, these are an urban or weekend street boot that feels good, looks good and does everything I need it to. And boy are they a looker. People who know nothing about motorcycling comment on these boots. The consensus is that they are "wicked cool".
The Gaerne Oiled Leather Balance boots are a pretty complete package out of the box, but swapping out the OEM insoles for these babies is a very nice upgrade. Super comfortable and takes an already awesome pair of boots to the next level.
Fit was true to size. Very comfortable so far. Havenot hit any water yet so not sure how waterproof they are. Very happy with the purchase so far. Would recommend them.
